World gone to the dogs.
A question for enthusiasts of evolution, psychology, anthropology, zoology, and animal psychology, plus for those who wonder what extraterrestrial societies may be like. What if some other animal species evolved with those intellectual traits that made us humans master of this world? Not the social psychological, but just the basics, like innovative engineering, communication skills, and of course the ability to make and use tools.
First of all you have to consider that of all the beasties we share this planet with comparatively, chimpanzee are most like us, yet their not our best friends. And it is documented by likes of Jane Goodall, chimps can be very nasty beasts, not fit for domestication, like dogs, horses and such. So with that in mind maybe in some parallel universe where dogs evolved into intellectual giants they would have a kinder and gentler society then humans, or maybe not. Like people dogs [domestic wolves] are hierarchical, political, territorial, and tribal. These are the same traits in us that spark war, greed and oppression etc.
So if the world went to the dogs, how would it be different from a human dominated one?
